Types of Angle Seat Valves

Mar 14, 2025

Angle seat valves can be categorized based on their actuation method, default state, and application environment.

The main types include:

Types of Angle Seat Valves

1. Classification by Actuation Method

Pneumatic Angle Seat Valve:

Operated by a pneumatic actuator for fast opening and closing, suitable for automated systems.

Electric Angle Seat Valve:

Controlled by an electric actuator, ideal for remote operation and smart system integration.

Manual Angle Seat Valve:

Operated by a handwheel or lever, simple in structure and easy to maintain.

2. Classification by Default State

Normally Open (NO) Angle Seat Valve: Remains open when there is no external actuation.

Normally Closed (NC) Angle Seat Valve: Remains closed when there is no external actuation.

3. Classification by Application Environment

High-Temperature & High-Pressure Angle Seat Valve:

Designed with heat-resistant sealing materials, suitable for steam and high-pressure fluid control.

Sanitary Angle Seat Valve:

Made of stainless steel with a polished interior, meeting hygiene requirements for food and pharmaceutical industries.

Explosion-Proof Angle Seat Valve:

Designed for hazardous environments with explosion-proof features, suitable for industries handling flammable substances.

Application Differences of Various Angle Seat Valves

Different types of angle seat valves are suited for different industrial applications, with key differences as follows:

1. Pneumatic vs. Electric vs. Manual Angle Seat Valves

Pneumatic Angle Seat Valve:

Ideal for applications requiring frequent and rapid actuation, such as chemical, food, and pharmaceutical fluid control.

Electric Angle Seat Valve:

Best for remote control and automation, often used in water treatment and HVAC systems.

Manual Angle Seat Valve:

Suitable for applications where flow adjustment is needed occasionally, such as laboratories and small-scale fluid control systems.

2. Normally Open vs. Normally Closed

Normally Closed (NC):

Used in systems that need to remain closed by default and open only when actuated, such as steam pipelines and gas switching systems.

Normally Open (NO):

Applied in systems that require continuous flow by default, such as cooling water circuits and continuous air supply systems.

3. High-Temperature, Sanitary, and Explosion-Proof Valves

High-Temperature & High-Pressure Angle Seat Valve:

Suitable for steam, hot oil, and other high-temperature media, commonly used in boiler systems and food processing equipment.

Sanitary Angle Seat Valve:

Used in food, pharmaceutical, and biotechnology industries where fluid purity and hygiene are critical.

Explosion-Proof Angle Seat Valve:

Designed for hazardous environments, ideal for applications in oil, chemical, and natural gas industries.
